2. Manadeniya

Eldest daughter Wijesundara Mudiyanselage Punchi Mahaththayo Iddawela (Podi Menike 1907-1999) was the second of Ukkubanda & Lokumenike’s 13 children. She married proprietor Tikiri Banda Dhanapala (1896-1974) of Manadeniya residence, Pilimatalawa which is beside Wijetunga Mawatha (named after ex-president of Sri Lanka) on Colombo-Kandy road. They had 7 children 2 male and 5 female namely Cyril, Chitra, Pramitha, Seetha, Lalitha, Wimal and Neeta respectively. They also adopted Dilip, the youngest son of Wije Iddawela. Cyril’s family chose Manadeniya as last name while Wimal remained as Dhanapala.

Pilimathalawa is situated between Kadugannawa and Peradeniya along Sri Lanka’s A1 highway Colombo-Kandy road. This expanding city belongs to Kandy District of Central Province.
