Givantha was born and raised in Kandy. He is the second child in the family in between his elder sister Dinithi and younger brother Nilan. He attended Trinity College in Kandy and went abroad to follow his passion in Engineering. He obtained a bachelors degree in Mechanical engineering from Auburn University and a masters from Cornell University. His hobbies include traveling, adventure, and exersise.
