Educated in St. Anthony&#8217;s College, Kandy he then pursued higher studies in Land Surveying to become a licensed surveyor.\u00a0 He married Malini Padma Ranaweera from Wettewa, Galagedara and settled in Pilimatalawa next to Manadeniya residence.<\/p>\n<p>Padma (1949) studied at Mahamaya Girls&#8217; College Kandy and then Graduated from University of Peradeniya in 1971. She became a teacher in Mahamaya Girl&#8217;s School, Kandy and retired as the vice principal of Girls High School, Kandy. They have one son Sanjaya Lasitha the eldest followed by 3 daughters Gayani, Avanthi and Sanwarni.
